Hear from volunteers about their experience with Village Bicycle Project.

"I started volunteering to learn bike repair, but I've gained so much more. The community is welcoming, and knowing my work helps students get to school makes every hour worthwhile."

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all! While we welcome experienced mechanics, most of our volunteer opportunities require no special skills. For bike repair work, we provide training and pair new volunteers with experienced mentors.
We appreciate any time you can give! Single collection events typically last 3-5 hours. For ongoing roles like warehouse support, we ask for a commitment of at least 2-4 hours per week, but schedules are flexible.
We love group volunteers! Corporate teams, community groups, and student organizations are welcome. We can accommodate groups of up to 20 people at our collection events and warehouse days. Contact us to schedule a group volunteer session.
We have volunteer opportunities in the Pacific Northwest (US) and throughout the UK. Collection events are held at various locations, while warehouse and mechanic work happens at our main facilities. Remote volunteers can contribute from anywhere in the world.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate independently. Youth ages 12-15 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Some physically demanding tasks may have additional age requirements.
