The people driving our mission forward

Joined VBP in 2015. Previously served as Executive Director of the NY Bicycling Coalition and consultant for Alta Planning & Design. Brings extensive experience in the bicycling industry with a background in bike shop work.

Working with VBP since 2006. Manages administrative operations, financial oversight, fundraising, website, and public relations. Coordinates Seattle-area bike collection and shipping events.

Founded VBP in 1999 and has dedicated his life to providing sustainable bicycle transportation in Africa. Established bike repair training programs in Ghana and Sierra Leone.
Guiding our strategic direction

Joined in 2019 after four months volunteering in Sierra Leone. Commerce degree graduate from University of Victoria. Lifelong cyclist from Vancouver Island.

Joined in 2025. Develops apps and websites for non-profits focused on international development and outdoor recreation. Regular international bike tour participant.

Joined in 2020. Worked in bicycle retail across Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Utah for a decade. Previously served on a summer youth camp non-profit board.

Owner of Total Reclaim recycling company. Has donated storage space and shipping support since VBP's founding year.

Joined in 2021. Professional background in green energy, electric vehicles, and software development. Avid cyclist for 25+ years. Organized Park City's inaugural VBP bike drive.

Joined in 2025. Director of OMNES Education San Francisco Campus. Career spans more than two decades across Europe and the United States. Currently collecting bikes in the Bay Area.

Director of the International Bicycle Fund and co-founder of Bike Works in Seattle. Invaluable adviser to the project since the first shipment in 2000. Designer of ibike.org resource library.
Our dedicated staff in Lunsar

Started cycling industry work at age 11. Became one of the country's most skilled mechanics and joined the Sierra Leone National Cycling Team. Promoted to Country Manager in 2015. Operates a major bike shop in Lunsar.

Trained as a teacher and accomplished bicycle mechanic. Manages quality control and maintains school bicycle library fleet.

Native of Lunsar. Started with VBP in 2014 as monitoring and evaluation officer. Now serves as primary program trainer and site coordinator. Member of Lunsar Cycling Team.
Our experienced staff across Ghana

Coordinates VBP's programs in Ghana, overseeing operations and ensuring smooth delivery of services across the country.

Working with VBP since 2003. Promoted to lead instructor in 2012; helped develop the One Day Workshop curriculum. Operates a shop and onion farm. From Upper East region.

Joined VBP in 2002 as trainee instructor. Promoted to lead instructor in 2012. Manages local market purchases and tool sales. From Northern Region.

Joined in June 2012. Skilled mechanic capable of repairing various machines. Based in Asueyi with family.

Joined VBP in February 2013. Opened his own bicycle repair shop in 2001. Lead Learn to Ride instructor responsible for gathering program reports and photos.

Joined in August 2013. Talented Kente weaver and bicycle mechanic. Manages warehouse inventory and operates his own shop. From Volta Region.

Joined in August 2014. Previously worked as bicycle mechanic in Central Accra's Tudu market. From Northern Region.

Joined in May 2014. Comes from a family with 20 members of his extended family working in bicycle mechanics. From Upper East Region; moved to Accra in 2011.
