Between November and December 2025, VBP Sierra Leone completed a major distribution campaign, assembling and delivering 180 bicycles to students at six schools across the country. Our team traveled to communities including Marampa, Lunsar, and Kamakuwie to put bikes in the hands of students who previously walked up to 8–10 miles each way to reach their classrooms.
Our team has been very busy traveling to several communities. During this period, our team successfully assembled and distributed 180 bicycles to 180 students who previously walked between 8 to 10 miles every day to attend school. The bikes will significantly reduce their commute time and also help support their families' livelihoods.
The bicycles distributed came specifically from Re-Cycle and Working Bikes Chicago. We extend our heartfelt thanks to both organizations for their continuous support of VBP Sierra Leone.
VBP Sierra Leone’s next distribution plan will involve another 200 bikes coming from Re-Cycle and Working Bikes Chicago. Our team will keep partners and supporters updated as that campaign moves forward.
Thank you to all our partners for your continuous support. Every bicycle delivered represents a student arriving at school on time, ready to learn, and a family with more time and energy for their daily lives.
Every bicycle we distribute transforms a student's education. Join us in bringing sustainable transportation to communities across West Africa.
