450 Bicycles Clear Customs and Ready for Distribution

In September 2024, a 40-foot shipping container carrying 450 bicycles successfully cleared customs at Freetown port and arrived at our distribution center. This shipment represents months of collection, consolidation, and logistics work spanning two continents.

Each bicycle in this container began its journey as a donation from someone in the US or UK who wanted to make a difference. Now, these bikes are ready to be refurbished by our trained mechanics and distributed to students, healthcare workers, and community members across Sierra Leone.

From Port to Communities

Once at our distribution center, each bicycle undergoes inspection and any necessary repairs by our team of trained local mechanics. This process not only ensures every bike is safe and functional but also provides valuable employment and skills development in the community.

These 450 bicycles will support our school distribution programs across multiple districts in Sierra Leone, with distributions planned throughout the coming months.
